Faced with a project inside a working power plant that involved asbestos, mercury, and lead-based paint along with excessive heat, noise, and numerous machinery hazards, your firm worked more than 15 months and 13,000 exposure hours without a lost time accident. Your partnering attitude at each weekly coordination meeting was reflective in the working relationship that developed between you the Contractor, the plant personnel, and the Government. Issues were resolved at the lowest possible level and the final product met with the designer intent and users needs. Your interest in Value Engineering resulted in a Value Engineering Contractor Proposal being submitted and accepted for the motor control centers as the first change order of your contract. Your idea not only saved the customer money, it also provided what the design intended with the original details. The final result was a project that was finished on time and met the customer's needs for new electrical equipment, in a power plant that was long overdue for renovation."
