Public / Industrial · Anchorage, Alaska
For the Anchorage Fish Hatchery, Alcan worked in a design-assist-through-implementation capacity alongside Kiewit Construction, with one overriding design focus: the long-term viability of the electrical system.
Controls that run the facility
A fish hatchery lives and dies by its environmental controls. Alcan’s expertise in electrical controls is a big part of why the Anchorage Fish Hatchery succeeds — the facility can essentially be monitored and controlled from a smartphone, giving operators precise, remote command over the systems that keep fish healthy.
Statewide hatchery experience
The Anchorage project isn’t the only hatchery Alcan has powered. We also served as the electrical subcontractor for the Fairbanks Fish Hatchery — a smaller facility, but one with power and controls purpose-built to support specific fish species. Together, they show Alcan’s depth in industrial controls for specialized, mission-specific facilities across Alaska.
