Aviation · Juneau, Alaska
The Juneau Terminal Reconstruction, undertaken by Dawson Construction, set out to revamp the airport terminal building — and Alcan performed all of the electrical work throughout the project.
Phased work in a live facility
The project followed a highly prescriptive, five-phase sequence designed to keep construction and remodeling moving without disrupting the terminal. The first two phases focused on careful preparation for demolishing the older section of the building. Alcan’s job in those phases was precise and critical: separating the existing electrical and low-voltage systems from the areas slated for demolition, so the rest of the terminal kept operating safely.
New build and integration
Once demolition was complete, a new two-story structure rose in its place. Alcan also carried out remodeling across portions of the existing facility to smooth the transition between the new and original spaces — delivering every electrical and low-voltage task across the project from start to finish.
